A member asked:

When i asked dr. to compare percocet 7.75/325 to norco, (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) his response was "they are different medications. that is not a comparison, is it?

They are!: But i suspect you wanted more than that! Percocet is oxycodone and Acetaminophen and Norco is hydrocodone and acetaminophen. Both are narcotic pain medications but Percocet requires a written prescription and cannot be "called in" to a pharmacy, whereas Norco can be e-scribed or called in. Either can be abused.

Both opioids: Percocet is oxycodone while Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) is hydrocodone. They are both opioids - pain relievers for moderate to severe pain. They are very similar in terms of side effects and potency - on a mg to mg basis. It really just depends which one you seem to do better with. Hope this helps.
