Sore palate: See an oral surgeon or a dentist for an exam. These problems cannot be solved without a professional exam. The teeth could have periodontal disease, or they could have had nerve death. One other thing that occurs on the palate behind upper front teeth is a cyst which can form in the nerve hole behind the front teeth. Oral surgeons can identify these quickly with an exam and special x-rays.

Sore: Sounds like you may have injured your incisive papillae(large piece of tissue directly behind and between the two front teeth). If so it should get better over a 5-7 day period. Best to rinse with salty water and if no improvement see your dentist.

Sore behind teeth: It is impossible to make an accurate diagnosis without a visual examination. The area directly behind the upper front teeth is called the incisive papilla. This is a common area for injury, i.e. Pizza burn. However, other possibilities are a gum or tooth infection, a cyst, an ulcer. If the area does not heal within 5-7 days, you should see your dentist for an examination.
