A member asked:

Can the after effects of meningitis be removed ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on variables: In the first weeks after suffering this infection there may be residual inflammation that produces some transient effects. However, any problem that persists a year after the process is likely permanent. Meningitis germs can destroy nerves and linkages leading to changes in function. It can sometimes lead to hearing loss and or other effects.
