Could be many things: Red eyes could mean many things. If it is dry eyes then artificial tear drops, gels or ointments should temporarily provide relief. If this does not work you should see your eye doctor to ensure something else's is going on. Redness that spreads to the other eye could be pink eye (viral conjunctivitis), allergy or infection. See your eye dr if artificial tears do not work.

What drops? Call Dr.: Often time drops that are used to "get the red out "are ocular decongestants. They're only intended to be used for a very short time, like visine. Often, many people want to use it chronically, which then causes red, bloodshot eyes if the drops aren't used. (rebound congestion.) so if that's the case, you'll have to stop using them temporarily, and make an appointment to see your eye doctor to have your dry eyes treated more closely.
