Yes.: So long as you are not allergic to cephalosporins. Cipro (ciprofloxacin) is a quinolone.

Generally safe: We have to watch out for an allergic reaction with any medication, and most antibiotics can cause diarrhea because they also tend to kill the "good" bacteria--normal gut flora that helps keep you regular. So there would be no guarantees that you wouldn't have a problem with suprax, (cefixime) but it's generally a safe medication. Good luck and feel better.

Safety of suprax (cefixime): Yes, suprax (cefixime) is safe. It is a cephalosporin antibiotic. Interestingly, it was not used for many years because of antibiotic resistance. Recently it has proven itself and for your situation it sounds like a reasonable choice.

SAFE?: Not sure what you mean by safe but all meds approved by fda are felt to be safe. If you are asking about reaction or allergy any medication can give allergic reaction or side effects at any time.

Relatively safe: There is always some risk of unwanted effects with any antibiotic. This one is safer than many. You neglect to provide enough details for full evaluation. For example, bacteria in urine should be treated in a woman your age only if specific symptoms are present. Why do you take 2 full aspirin? What happened to your hives and diarrhea? Diarrhea can be a very serious complication of antibiotic thera.
