How long can hepatitis c virus survive outside of the body?

Not very long: Viruses require other cells to live in. If excreted from the body the virus will die as the cells containing it die. If you are referring to blood, however, do not assume wet blood is non-infectious.

Up to 4 days approx: The hepatitis viruses are hardy, and one can survive longer than the other. Generally speaking hep c can survive up to 4 days and in room temp, usually less than a day.
