Dust mite allergy: House dust contains dust mite allergens but also, insect proteins, animal dander, molds and many other possible allergens. Dust mites can often be reduced by dropping indoor humidity below 30% with a dehumidifier. Consider a vacuum with a hepa filter. Dust mite covers for a new pillow and mattress could also help. Look for whole house hvac filter with a merv rating of 10 or more.

Environment allergy: Treating allergies include avoidance, medications, desensitization and treating its complications like asthma and sinus infections. Depending on how bad your symptoms are you might need one or all of those mentioned above. House dust is a collection of different indoor allergens. Many good over the counter medications are now available and can be used safely. If symptoms persist, see an allergist.
