A member asked:

How would a doctor or u.s tech tell if you had a period or implantation bleeding? are ultrasounds accurate at measuring bbys&duedates?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cannot: It's impossible to tell the difference between implantation bleeding and pre-menstrual lining in a woman. Sorry, ultrasounds just aren't that specific or accurate at that point in pregnancy (implantation). Ultrasounds become much more accurate after about 6 1/2 weeks gestation and are most accurate through 1st trimester.
