Probably infection: Exactly where is uncertain. The lymph nodes of the upper neck may swell with irritation/inflammation of the throat, teeth, tongue, gums, skin of the face and some of the scalp. Often mild viral infections of the upper respiratory tract (colds) produce swelling of these nodes without much other symptomatology. Salt water gargles, Acetaminophen may help.
