Sort of: In my personal experience, I have found professional tooth whitening to last for years ; is relatively permanent. However, over time the teeth may naturally darken. Many patients may need or want a "touch-up" as necessary. I prefer the custom tray-take home whitening products for that reason: you keep the trays and only need to purchase the whitening gel.

Yes and no: Nothing is ever permanent. Over time, the brightness of your teeth can diminish and fade again but you can certainly touch up the whitenening by using your solution again for a few days to a week. Discuss with your dentist.

NOT permanent: However, if done properly and with proper follow up care, teeth whitening can last a long time after the initial procedure and it requires frequent touching up.
