Please help docs! is only using betadine to clean a surgical suture enough for the 1st weak without cleaning with water?

Ask your surgeon: Ask your surgeon as some surgeons do not want the wound dressings to be disturbed. If the surgeon allows you to wet the sutured incision line then cleaning with water/saline or betadine are all okay. I do not allow my patients to sit in a bath tub but they can shower once the drains have been removed.
