Normal: Will be expected to have some discomfort with an open wound in such an area. Anti inflammatory meds like Ibuprofen may help ease the discomfort somewhat as well as appropriate dressings to maintain a moist wound environment for healing.

Likely normal: After an excision of a cyst, it is normal to have some discomfort with dressing changes. Continue to keep it moist and hair free during the healing process. Also see you treating doctor regularly for wound checks.
