I was wondering is an appendectomy or hysterectomy more painful?

Hard to say: It would depend on a number of factors. Pain after surgery is usually from the incisions, in particular where muscles are divided to get into the abdomen. There are techniques for both procedures that are minimally invasive, using a laparoscope. These can make the incisions smaller, and therefore make the pain after surgery less than with traditional open surgery techniques. I hope this helps.
