Observation: Any additional info would have been very helpful, but after a surgery it is normal to be closely monitored for a while to be sure no immediate complications encountered and wake from anesthesia properly. Usually done in pacu (/post-op), but sometimes takes longer, or with sicker patient more things might go wrong, so put in intensive care.
