Rare: 17 is young, but it can occur in very very rare cases, especially with certain familial genetic cancers.

Yes and no: Unfortunately we do see young women with breast cancer. Seventeen is a bit young but it has been reported. The best thing to do is examine your breasts several times during the month. The reason is that during your cycle, the breasts can be more cystic and feel different. Examining them at different times of the month can help you know differences in your breasts.
