Stopped tramadol suddenly after seizures started, was taking 300-500mg sid for 3 years; do i need to worry about seratonin levels? also can't sleep since :\any suggestions would be great thanks!

Wean off tramadol: Taking such a large dose for 3 years, you should or should have weaned down the dose of tramadol over a period of time (couple weeks or so). Tramadol is opiate-like, shouldn't affect serotonin, but like opiates, it's not wise to stop it abruptly. It may have made you susceptible to having seizures.

Seizures can occur: Tramadol is a synthetic opiate. It can and does lower seizure threshold which, in susceptible individuals, can result in convulsive episodes and in more dramatic cases to epilepsy itself. Neurologists tend to not tramadol for pain management issues as readily for these reasons. Therefore, weaning off drug is always recommended.
