My mom has a 30000 platele count.she has an appointment with the hematologist on april 5 and the doctor is waiting for a factor anti x test. whattodo?

Low platelet: Low platelet can be caused by different things from drug, infection, autoimmune, malignancy/bone marrow problem, vitamin deficiency, destruction/consumption etc. Since the appt is not until april 5. What you can do is to ask your md to repeat the level again- to make sure the level doesn't go down further to 10k or less. If it is 10k or lower- she needs to get transfusion and to be seen sooner.
