Nasal saline/M.D.: Cough in an infant who is three months old may be caused by a number of conditions and infections. Supportive treatment includes keeping the baby well hydrated, treating fever, and gently removing mucus from the nasal passages with a bulb suction/infant saline drops. Babies can not spit out the sputum and instead swallow the sputum and may vomit as a result. A chest xray and testing for the cause.
