Chills, fever since sat. developed pain in left lung which at times is severe but generally ok w/ pain meds. given azithromycin yesterday night. i'm worse today. shouldn't the meds be working by now?

No: If you have a respiratory infection that is sensitive to azithromycin, it may take 48-72 hours before you can appreciate results.

In my experience: I have yet to see Azithromycin work in any respiratory illness this year. I think it has begun to be too weak or there are too many bugs resistant to it for any respiratory illness. Just my experience here in seattle this year.
