Pulmonary fibrosis : It depends on the severity, but yes it should be visible on xray as well as be detected with pfts. The correct way to diagnose it would be to have high resolution lung ct scans and lung biopsies with a pathologist giving the diagnosis. There are many ways to acquire pf as well as genetic mutations that can cause it. Most cases have no known source. Your reflux may also worsen the condition.

Yes: Advanced pulmonary fibrosis will show on cxr. Even mild degrees will show up on pulmonary function testing.

Suggestion: Both the x-ray and pft provide clue to the condition but may need other tests to confirm its presence. A ct chest is better in providing more detailed anatomical changes in the lungs.
