Not likely to help: Antibiotics are only effective against bacterial infection. Chicken pox is caused by a viral infection and antibiotics will not help to relieve any inflammation unless caused by bacteria.

Chickenpox: I agree with Dr. Kattuah. Antibiotics would usually only be used if there was a secondary bacterial infection. Chickenpox is caused by varicella- zoster virus. Viruses are not treated with antibiotics.
