Risk versus benefit: Traumatic retinal detachments are a real entity and occur during ocular injuries. The fact that boxers sustain ocular injuries routinely should cause some concern in someone who has already had a previous history of detached retinas. The risk is there, but the choice is ultimately yours. All the best.
