Having said that a few normal pts who have tried probiotics describe diarrhea probably as a consequence of the change in the flora of the intestine. Yes: Linzess is used to treat the constipation associated with ibs. Most common reported adverse reaction with Linzess is diarrhea. There is no specific contraindication to taking probiotics and best to monitor consistency of bowel movements.
