No: There's no drug/drug interaction with the two medications. They really should not be taking together for a long period of time. They are however prescribed when someone is restless or symptoms of anxiety associated with steroid therapy.

Alters metabolism: Medrol is the brand name for Methylprednisolone in oral form. It can alter the metabolism of xanax (alprazolam) and render it less effective. But there is no dangerous or life threatening type of interaction between those 2 drugs.
