Be careful: Best success rates are 33-100%, but the complication rate ranged from 0 to 42%, whereas the mortality rate was as high as 3.8% best candidates are younger. Needs to be done at a center with a team of experienced psychiatrists and a functional neurosurgeon very familiar with psychosurgical procedures to select appropriate surgical candidates.
