Slow down: Who is diagnosed with anxiety, who did the diagnosis, what anxiety disorder, how long has the anxiety lasted, how impairing is it, what other medical conditions and medications are present, and what other psych diagnoses are present? A thorough assessment is needed to determine next steps. Therapy plus medication plus lifestyle changes often work best, but you might find you don't need meds!

No med is best: There are different types of meds for anxiety depending on the severity and duration of the problem, and other factors. All can be safe if taken as prescribed, but some are habit-forming, so it is important they not be over-used. Anxiety can be treated without meds as well. Please talk to your doctor about what would work best for you.
