Pain, swelling...: Bakers' cysts are common in osteoarthritis of the knee associated w/ degenerative meniscus( cartilage) tears. You can 'expect ' pain, swelling, stiffness in the back of the knee . You may also notice fluctuations in the size of the cyst from time to time. Be certain that you do indeed have one( the diagnosis is correct) and see a competent knee surgeon for treatment options.
