Sleep position: The most common reason is the position you sleep in. It may be putting stress on the area of problem and causing the spasm. There are many other possibilities including among others disk problems, your mattress, potassium or calcium problems. Try sleeping in a recliner for one night or a different bed to see if this will help. If no improvement your doctor can provide treatment.
