Yes: It is appropriate and recommended that you continue with routine dental care during pregnancy. In the case of "urgent" problems, these are also appropriate to address and treat during pregnancy. Also, if the tooth gets infected, there is some older evidence in the literature suggesting that this is associated with problems in pregnancy, such as preterm labor. Newer studies do not agree.

Fractured Molars: Call your dds tomorrow morning to examine that tooth. Since you are pregnant, you do not want to chance a dental infection that might compromise your baby's health (or yours!). As to whether or not that tooth can be restored, that depends on a variety of factors that only your dentist can answer.

Broken Tooth: For your health and the health of your unborn child, you need to see a dentist right away to evaluate the tooth and determine whether it can be restored or requires removal. Your dentist along with your obstetrician and you can determine what is the best course of treatment at this point.

Possibly: It depends on where the fracture is. If the tooth has enough tooth structure above the gums you may be able to have a crown placed. If it is fractured too far below the gum to be repaired it most likely will need to be extracted. See your dentist soon to avoid it breaking further and to see if it's fixable. An X-ray would be necessary to fully evaluate the tooth as well. Best of luck!

See a dentist ASAP: If you are pregnant and need a dental treatment, do not hesitate to take an appointment with your dentist notifying him/her that you are pregnant. Ignore the widely spread misconception that you should not have dental treatment during pregnancy because it could harm the fetus. See your dentist ASAP.

Dental evaluation: See a dentist ASAP. About your broken tooth. Dental treatment is possible and very important during pregnancy. Your dentist may consult with your OB before treatment. But no treatment can lead to an infection which can hurt your baby. See a dentist ASAP
