Armour thyroid: Is not a drug but a natural supplement made from the thyroids of cattle. The armour meat company started making this years ago and many people do well on it. Your doc will tell you the correct dose for you. Peace and good health.

Hashimoto's : I consider Armour Thyroid a very safe drug. It has been used for decades. 30mg is half a grain. It is next to the lowest dose you can get. Thyroid hormone dosing varies a lot. It needs to be personalized to you and your response.

Safe, but..: It is save, but most doctors use levothyroxine instead of pig thyroid extract (Armour). As stated, Armour contains a mixture of thyroid hormones. Levothyroxine is T4, which is naturally converted in your body to T3 (liothyronine) for a more even response. People who take Armour often get a low grade hyperthyroidism, which takes a toll later in life.
