A member asked:

Which medecine is better for fibromyalgia liryca or cymbalta (duloxetine)? i am on cymbalta (duloxetine) 60mg for the last 10 days i didn't notice any difference yet

Cymbalta (duloxetine): Both are very different but maximum dose of Cymbalta (duloxetine) is 120mg/day. If you've been on 60mg for more than 2 weeks you might ask your prescribing professional to increase your prescriptio gradually up to the maximum recommended dose before adding other medications to your treatment regimen.

Both are good.: Both medicines are good. The Cymbalta (duloxetine) not only helps the pain but the depression that is ubiquitous to the condition. They are often used at the same time. You have to wait at least 3-4 weeks to feel any benefits. The effect is very subtle and you will not feel a dramatic difference as you would a pain pill.

What is it?: Fibromyalgia can be a garbage can diagnosis - when there is uncertainty about the diagnosis or how to treat the symptom complex that present. Sleep disorders can manifest as pain that is not well localized and of course with associated fatigue. Even borderline low blood pressure can cause lack of blood flow to brain (headache, fatigue, fog), abdomen (ibs), periphery (cold) , or to muscles (pain).

Really can't tell: I really can't tell yet, need to give Cymbalta (duloxetine) about three weeks to get into your system and achieve therapeutic benefit.
