Usually time ; rest: Bruising injuries after trauma are common and usually result form some bleeding in the local tissues. Most of these should resolve with rest of the affected area in 2-3 weeks. If you have a significant amount of pain with use of that area that could be an indication of an underlying fracture and you should probably be evaluated and have xrays done. See your doctor if not better after 3 weeks.
