Good Care: Will prevent the complications or postpone for long time , complications of diabetes, and hypertension , she has to take care , by regular visits to her doctor , diet and exercises , you can only direct her.

Diabetes & heart dz: A diagnosis of diabetes does put your mom at high risk of heart dz. It is great that it is controlled. What to do? Continue meds! Proper diet and exercise. She needs to keep her appts with her MDs. If she is obese, it is vitally important to lose weight as this can improve the diabetes and high blood pressure. Educate yourselves about diabetes and high blood pressure. Knowledge is power!

Cardiovascular risk: Hypertension and diabetes are both risk factors for heart disease. However if controlled blood pressure and controlled diabetes your risk goes down.
