Likely unrelated: Unless you have bathed several outdoor and muddy animals in the tub, i would doubt that he got ill from the tub water especially when the symptoms didn't start until days later.

Testing: Drinking bath tub water may not be related to the current symptoms. The illness sounds from your description like a bacterial infection. Your doctors will send cultures to determine the exact cause. Another diagnosis to consider is kawasaki's disease. Imaging studies such as hrct and chest xrays may be ordered. I hope this helps.
