All SSRI's have: Side-effects. In fact, all meds have them. The key: which one works better to help w/ur ocd? U also mention high blood pressure; is that under control? If not, it could contribute to ur anxiety. Sometimes, ppl misinterpret physical symptoms as anxiety. Research shows our brains can respond to talk therapy as well or better than with meds alone. Have u tried cognitive-behavioral therapy for ocd?

About the same.: Both Paxil (paroxetine) and escitalopram ( cipralex) are ssris and both have been prescribed for ocd but the standard of treatment for ocd uses higher than usual doses used for major depression. Both have comparable side effects but each individual responds to different medications even when they belong to the same class.
