In your opinion, what's the best medicaition for severe ocd. i've tried paxil (paroxetine) and lexapro to no avail. this is just a question, not seeking meds onlin?

No endorsement: This is not how medicine works. There are a number of drugs, but the individual patient and their history and their other conditions and medications must be taken into account. There is no list of the best and the worst of these drugs. They all have a place.

OCD: I don't think that there is one best medication. Most of the ssri's can be effective. I have used zoloft (sertraline) a lot for ocd. Anafranil which is actually a tricyclic antidepressant (older class) can also be helpful. You & your physician may need some trials before you get just the right medication (s). Take care.
