Speak to the surgeon: 4 yr old will not have any problem , will have bowel movement , give plenty of fluids , most likely not eating enough , speak to the surgeon , or even better his pediatrician . Why are you giving the kid 'ibuprofen , hydrocodon ' most likely you are taking not the kid., .
