Scoliosis: Scoliosis itself is usually not painful unless it's very severe. There may be other reasons for your back pain. Also, at 17 years old it is unlikely that a brace will do any good for your scoliosis. You should be re-evaluated by a spine surgeon/specialist.

At your age, there are many things that can be done to help relieve pain depending on the grade of scoliosis. So don't delay, as you may have tremendous relief having an musculoskeletal exam done, and being treated by the osteopathic dr.
