Your history of : Scoliosis may have no bearing on low back pain unless there is another condtion that has a slightly higher prevalence in patients with scoliosis known as spondylolysis & spondylolithesis. Sometimes, there is a compensatory or balancing curve in the lower back that may alter the mechanics in that region leaing to back pain. See an orthopedic surgeon for an evaluation. There could be other causes.

See a spine Dr.: Typically scoliosis will not cause pain below 40degrees, so assuming your pain is coming from something else, we have to find out what. An MRI will show possible disk injuries and fractures, or it might show nothing. Either way you need treatment and with so many variables, see your spine specialist for evaluation.

Nonoperative treatme: 36 degrees scoliosis is mild curve. Back strengthening exercises, general fitness, and good posture should relieve your pain unless you have other back problems.
