Unlikely: The issue is what you are calling the flu and if was correctly diagnosed. Most people self diagnose and we have no confirmation. If you have fever, body aches, cough with malaise during flu season, then we treat empirically waiting for confirmation. Your member probably had a viral syndrome then perhaps another or a complication like sinusitis.
