just tested positive for flu strain a. have had mild symptoms for 24 hours not too bad but can it get worse or would i have felt the worst already?

Not necessarily: Uncomplicated influenza illness can remain symptomatic for 3 to 7 days for most people, but cough and fatigue can persist for >2 weeks. Importantly, keep in mind that influenza can be transmitted to others for 5 to 7 days after symptoms begin.
