I've had mono twice in 8 months, should i be concerned? i've had symptoms the 2nd time for 4 months now.

Diagnosed?: Was the mono diagnosed the first and the second time? Or do you just have same symptoms for the last 4 months that you had the first time? This could be something different that acts like mono. The symptoms do overlap many other conditions. I would go see your doctor for evaluation. Once you have mono, you have it for life, and it can become reactivated, but is usually self-limited. Good luck.

Odd statement: Traditional mono is caused by the EB virus.After a primary illness of 2-3 wks(most) to 2-3 mo (few) you are immune and will not get EB mono again. Some common blood tests for this condition will remain positive for years, but not those specific to new infection.There are other germs that can cause a mono syndrome. If you are continuously ill a more thorough evaluation would be wise.
