Pneumonia recovery: This lingering cough can be normal. I suggest seeing your pcp. Sometimes if you have acid reflux (gerd), this can worsen after a pneumonia, so make sure your taking your heartburn medication if applicable.

Pneumonia: It is possible for this to be normal recovery but that depends in large part on the cause of your pneumonia and whether the infection involved the tracheobronchial tree. If the latter you may be having residual recovery of these tissues. If this was one of the atypical pneumonias like mycoplasma, chlamydia, legionella, the cough may well go on for weeks.
