A member asked:

Is vt can occur in a healthy heart? is a few seconds of vt were caught on holter is a health concern? is vt can only be prevented by ablation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

VT is always abnl: The finding of ventricular tachycardia is always abnormal. Most typically, this is a sign that there is cardiac disease, although it can be caused by certain drugs or an electrolyte abnormality in a normal heart. Cardiomyopathy, myocarditis, cardiac ion channel disease, cardiac ischemia, congenital heart disease can all cause vt. Proper treatment depends on diagnosis, and is not always ablation.
