I have had two back surgeries. the first was rods. second was removable of same. told spine will fuse to tail bone. what should i do?

Maybe, maybe not: The rods were place to help you achieve a biologic fusion. The removal of the rods will make this less likely. A biologic fusion can be either fibrous (not so good) or bone (ideal). If you get a bone fusion, you can be sure that if motion at that segment of your spine was the cause of the pain, you will feel better. Fusions fail for 2 reasons: failure to fuse and failure to diagnose the cause.

Second opinion: Research has shown that you have a lower likelihood of improvement with each additional back surgery. I suggest you get a 2nd and/or 3rd opinion before you consider another surgery.

Let me explain: Since they told you the back fused, most likely the pain should be minimum you should slightly careful with your activities so you will not developed new injuries.
