Throat Irritation: If you are not already being treated by an md for your pharyngitis, do so immediately. As you can imagine, blood from any source that you spit out means something is wrong. Certainly, inflammation of the pharynx can cause irritation at the base of the tongue and throat, and the raw tissues may be bleeding. This may be the source of the blood. In any case, visit a qualified md for tx. (now!).
