ADHD and narcolepsy: Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) xr is used mainlyto treat adhd. Occasionally, it's used to treat narcolepsy. The main long-term side effect from use of Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) xr, or any stimulant, in childhood is growth suppression. A kid treated throughout childhood with stimulants is likely to wind up an inch or two shorter than he or she would otherwise. Often not a bad trade-off for the large benefits received.

Little 4 - Big 2: Side effects. 4: headache, stomache, insomnia, poor appetite, 2: bad mood swings or tics, motor nervous twitches. If the 4 occur they usually mild, and get better over time. Most patients dont have side effects. If you see anything you don't like be sure and talk with your doctor.
