Maybe: The one problem is that fibromyalgia patients often have costochondral pain and tenderness which has nothing to do with a sternal nonunion. Therefore, the surgery may or may not help depending on the true cause of the pain.

Possible: The recovery time from surgery varies from person to person but i would suggest that you contact the surgeon to make sure that everything is ok if the pain persists for more than 3 months. People with fibromyalagia are suspected to have a lower pain threshold and this may be a contributory factor for your pain.
