What are the removable, waxy "balls" that form in the back of my throat/sinuses (and smell really bad)? why do i get them? how do i prevent them?

Normal: Those are small collections of food, bacteria nd other things that collect in the natural pockets of the tonsils and adenoids as part of your immune system and body doing it's thing. They are called "tonsil stones" and they do stink! best approach is good oral hygiene such as flossing, brushing your teeth (and tongue), staying hydrated and perhaps a mouth wash if you are really concerned.
