Addiction: Zolpidem is thought to be one of the most addicting substances, in fact, taking it seven days in a row often leads to a physical and mental dependence. It is not a good sleep aide in that it does not offer improved rest nor does it offer replication of natural sleep with the four sleep cycles. It is a drug that just 'knocks' one out. It is not a safe drug for regular or routine use.

Sleep: Zolpidem is the generic of Ambien (zolpidem) a sedative hypnotic drug. Used for short term treatment of insomnia. Give 7 hours before planned awaking on an empty stomach. It is a controlled substance schedule IV and has a low moderate abuse potential. Go back and read the common reactions and serious reactions. Not a drug to take lightly. Please do not drive while on this medication!
